QR attendance

Scan the ID card at the gate. The register fills itself as children walk in, and a teacher’s mark always wins.

How it works

The gate does the register.

No fingerprint machine to buy. A USB scanner or any phone camera will do. Here is a morning.

At the gate

  1. Open the scan page, on a laptop with a USB scanner, or on a phone.
  2. Choose Arriving or Leaving. One tap at the start of the day, one at the end.
  3. Scan each card. Present, or late after your late time. The child’s photo shows, to catch a borrowed card.
  4. That’s the register. Arrival times are on each class’s sheet before the first bell.
Scan a card with us on a call

Every scan is kept

Back in, early leave, and refused cards: lost, left the school, expired, or a holiday. Two gates scanning one card don’t mark it twice.

Early pickups

When a child leaves early, the gate sees the guardians on file before letting them go.

For staff too

Staff cards mark present, late or half day against the staff times you set, in Staff attendance. Only office roles can scan staff cards.

FAQ

Questions about the gate.

Devices

Can we connect our biometric machine?

Not yet. Fingerprint and RFID devices are planned, writing to the same register as the QR scan.

Teachers

What if a teacher marks absent a child who scanned in?

The teacher’s mark stands. A scan never overrides a mark made by hand.

Lost cards

What happens when a lost card is scanned?

It is refused, and the office is told, once a day.

Internet

What if the internet is down at the gate?

The scan needs a connection today. Scans that save offline and catch up later are planned.
