Library

Issue, return, fines on school days. A holiday week never puts a child in debt.

How it works

The library desk, without the register.

Each book is written once, at the desk. Here is a loan, start to finish.

At the library desk

  1. Add your books. Scan the ISBN and the title fills in, or bring in your list as a CSV.
  2. Issue a book. Scan the child’s ID card and the book. The due date lands on a school day.
  3. Take it back. Late school days, after your grace days, make the fine, up to your cap.
  4. See what is out, by student, overdue first.
Try it with your own books

Rules that fit a school

Two books for 14 days for students and ten for 30 days for staff, unless you change it. Set an all-books-back date before the session ends.

Lost books, settled properly

A lost book is charged at its cost plus a fee, on the fee receipt. If it turns up, the charge drops, or becomes a refund due.

Before a TC

Books still out show on the child’s record, and the TC warns before it is issued.

FAQ

Questions librarians ask.

Still have questions?Ask us on a 30-minute call.

Fines

Are fines on from the start?

No. Switch them on, set the amount and grace days, and choose whether staff pay them.

Numbers

How are books numbered?

By accession number, with your own prefix if you like. A number is never used twice.

Overdue

Can a child with an overdue book borrow another?

Not without a note. Overdue books or unpaid charges block a loan unless the librarian overrides it with a reason.

Registers

Can we print the issue register?

Export it as a spreadsheet. Printed registers and spine labels are coming.
