Concessions and fines

Sibling, staff ward and late fee rules. The rule decides the amount, not whoever is at the window.

How it works

Concessions without the calculator.

A scheme is written once, given to a child once, and used on every bill after that. Here is one going in.

Setting up a scheme

  1. Name it. Sibling, staff ward, merit, or start from the three ready ones.
  2. Say how much. A share or a fixed amount, with a cap if you want one.
  3. Pick the fee heads. Tuition only, say, and leave transport alone.
  4. Give it to a child, with a note, and an end date if it has one.

History doesn’t move

Stop a concession in March and the bills before March keep it. A scheme that has been given to a child can’t be quietly edited later.

Late fees that are fair

A fine for each day after the due date and your grace days, up to a cap. A cheque that came in on time owes nothing, even if it was entered late.

Who can forgive

The front desk collects at the fee counter. Waiving a fine or giving a one-off concession needs the accountant, principal or admin, and a note.

Questions about concessions and fines.

Ready-made

Which concessions come ready?

Sibling at 10%, specially-abled at 25% and early-bird at 5% on tuition. Change the amounts, or add your own, like staff ward or merit.

Siblings

Does Scoolin find siblings on its own?

Not yet. The office gives the sibling concession to each child once; from then on every bill takes it off.

Late fees

How is the late fee worked out?

An amount for each day after the due date and grace days (up to 60), with a cap. Changing the rule later doesn’t touch fines already counted.

Late arrival

Can coming late to school carry a fine?

Yes, if you want it. Each late mark beyond a free number in the month is added to that month’s bill.
